Listed building and conservation work
Listed and sensitive buildings need a lighter touch and a careful case for every change.
The brief
Pamela McCormick, ARB-registered architect, designs extensions and alterations to listed buildings and prepares the applications, including listed building consent.
Listed building and conservation work
We study what makes the building significant, design changes that respect it, and prepare drawings and supporting information for planning and listed building consent.
Adaptive reuse and historical renovation services
Older buildings can often take on a new use, or be renovated for modern living, without losing their character. We design those changes carefully and prepare the applications they need.

Questions
What is listed building consent?
It's a separate consent needed for works that affect the character of a listed building, inside or out. It is often submitted alongside a planning application.
Can you extend a listed building?
Often, yes, if the design respects the building. The Cottage in Howden-le-Wear is a Grade II listed rear extension.
