House extensions
A good extension isn't just extra floor space. It has to work with the house you already have, the planners you'll face and the way you actually live.
The brief
Pamela McCormick, ARB-registered architect, designs single-storey, two-storey and wraparound extensions for homes across County Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire.
House extensions
We start with a visit and a conversation about what isn't working: light, space, the kitchen, the link to the garden. Pamela then develops options, refines the chosen design and prepares the drawings for planning or a lawful development certificate, whichever route the project needs.
Ground-floor living
Extensions can also make a home work for changing needs, such as a downstairs bedroom and wetroom so someone can live on one level.
Questions
Do I need planning permission for an extension?
Some extensions need full planning permission. Others can go ahead under permitted development, where a lawful development certificate confirms the position. We'll tell you which route your project needs.
Can you design an extension for a bungalow?
Yes. Willow Crescent in Richmond is a bungalow extension and remodel.
How do we start?
Call 07812 992068 or email pamela@padesigns.co.uk with the address and what you'd like to change. The first conversation is no-obligation.
